  • Will you come to my marina where my boat is stored?
Yes, we are a mobile boat servicing company. We carry more than the standard insurance policy that is usually required by marina's and we have a good relationships with a handful of marina's in the Pittsburgh Pa area and if we don't we're more than happy to try to build new business relationships with the local marina owners.
  • What products do you use when detailing boats?
We use nothing but the industries best marine grade compounds, polishes, sealants, soaps, protectants and conditioners. All environmentally safe, gel coat safe, canvas safe, isinglass safe, window safe, stainless steel safe, vinyl safe and teak safe. These products will provide the best possible end result for your boat. Direct to our detail package page click here.
  • What if my boat is in the water already, can you still detail it?
Yes we can. When a boat is in the water we usually only detail the topside (everything above the rub rail). We can detail the hull while in water but since there is a lot more effort and time that goes into it there will be an extra charge depending on the size of your boat and condition of the gel coat. We recommend having us detail it on land but we don't require it.
  • When doing electrical repairs or new installations, how do you ensure reliability in your work?
First we follow ABYC Standards (The American Boat &Yacht Council (ABYC) is a non-profit, member organization that develops voluntary global safety standards for the design, construction, maintenance and repair of recreational boats.) We also use high quality marine grade wire, heat shrink wire connectors and heat shrink wrap. We double seal all our connections which other boat repair shops usually only do one. Direct link to our installations page click here.
  • Do you provide free quotes?
Yes we will write up a detailed quote for the requested services. We prefer to look over a boat while the owner is there to get the best possible understanding of what the boat owner wants us to service or detail. It's really hard to quote a price over the phone because every boat is different or is in need of something different.
  • How long will my full boat detail take?
This is one of the hardest questions to answer. The main time consuming factors when it comes to boat detailing are the boats size, condition the boat is in and the boats location (whether its in water or on land). The weather also plays a role in timing because 95% of boat detailing that we do is outside. But a rough estimate for length of time is any where from 2-3 days up to 1-2 weeks.
  • What forms of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Master Card, Visa, Discovery and American Express. We can accept credit & debit cards through Square by over the phone, by card swipe or by tap pay. We also have a quick pay option through Quickbooks that is available on the invoice we email you.
  • Is Out Of This World Boatworks LLC a new company?
Yes we have just formally formed a LLC in the year of 2023. With that being said we have 15 years experience in boat detailing, marine installations, maintenance and repairs. Click to be directed to our about page.
  • Why should I trust you to work on my boat?
Good question! For one we are boat owners ourselves and we understand how expensive a boat is and how much a boat means to its owner. We also have 15 years experience in boat detailing, boat care, boat installations, maintenance and repairs. We are working on having previous customers write reviews to help ease the minds of potential new customers. But we have never had any major issues when servicing a customers boat, we always return a boat in way better condition than how we received it. If any issues do come up after we serviced your boat we will always fix or do whatever it takes to make sure or customers are completely satisfied. On all installations we offer a one year warranty on labor. We also carry the right insurance policy if something major should happen to your boat that was caused by us.
  • How much does a 34' boat that needs a full boat detail with heavy oxidation and the boat is on land?
It's very hard to give fixed rates for every boat because they are all different but to give you a basic round about estimate of total cost for that services, you're looking in-between $1,200.00 to $1,500.00. This consists of a lot of work and effort usually a total of 5 steps to properly detail the boat. It will be showroom ready and will last the whole season if properly maintained. Direct to our detail packages page click here.
  • If I hire you, will you sub my boats detailing to another company or does your company do the detailing?
We never sub out any work to other companies. When you hire us you're guaranteed that it will be the staff of Out Of This World Boatworks LLC and most of the time the owner Brian will always be on the job.
  • What brand of audio equipment do you install?
We are not married to any brand of marine audio equipment. We will install whatever the customer prefers. If there is no preference we will recommend brands based on the boat owners set budget.
  • I'm on a budget this year and my boat was fully detailed and oxidation was removed also, but I couldn't maintain it through out the season, so there is very light oxidation returning. What detail package would you recommend for my situation on a 26' boat full detail with slight oxidation and my boat is on land?
Going by our detail package layout we would recommend our 3 Step Detail Package. The estimated total cost for this will be between $400.00 to $600.00 for that size and condition of boat.
  • My husband is DIY boat owner, if he details half of our boat can we hire you to finish the other half?
For most situations, yes you may hire us to finish. We don't mind working with our customers (metaphorically speaking) we just don't prefer to literally work with our customers is all.
